A disgruntled former employees at Lawry's The Prime Rib shot a man and restrained employees during an armed robbery of the steakhouse, located just west of the Magnificent Mile, late on Sunday night, according to police and reports.

The robber, between the ages of 35 and 40, went inside the restaurant, in the 100 block of E. Ontario, at around 11:45 p.m. on Sunday night and "restrained" "several" employees that he found in a locker room. After restraining them, the gunman took their cellphones, according to police.

A 40-year-old man then interrupted the gunman in the midst of the robbery, when the robber opened fire. The victim was hit in the right and subsequently taken to Northwestern Hospital, where his condition stabilized.

The shooter fled, but officers found him "a short time later" and arrested the man, police said. Investigators also recovered a weapon, according to police.
