Here's a weird new thing coming to Wicker Park: Capitol One is opening their third hybrid bank/cafe to Chicago.

DNAinfo reports that Capitol One Cafe will be setting up shop at 1958 W. North Ave. Those who complain that Wicker Park has one too many sports bars may be pleased to know that responsible types who want to get their coffee with a side of financial planning will now be inhabiting that corner.

DNAinfo says that Capital One Cafe will be opening winter 2018 in the 13,000-square-foot space. There will be ATMs, free WiFi, coffee from Peet's Coffee and local pastries. There will be banking "ambassadors" on hand and money coaching and money workshops.

Capitol One has been opening up these hybrids straight out of a millennial focus group all over the country. There are already cafes in Southport and Lincoln Park. In one marketing video, they proclaim, "We're not a regular bank, we're a cool bank."

It all feels a little "How do you do, fellow kids?" but Yelpers at the Southport location say the hazelnut macchiatos are on point and it's a quiet place to work.
