Police have released surveillance photo of the two suspects, above.

Two teenage robbers struck an elderly woman and mugged her on the street in Lincoln Park Tuesday afternoon, police are warning.

The woman, 80, was reportedly walking in the 1400 block of West Altgeld Street around 5:20 p.m. when she was approached by two teenaged boys, one of whom police say could have been as young as 12 years old. The boys pushed the woman to the ground, then yanked her purse from her arms and ran away, according to police. The woman refused medical treatment from police.

Witnesses told ABC7 that the boys may have used a weapon to knock the woman over before stealing her purse. The two boys fled down an alley near North Southport Avenue, police said, and "officers toured the area in search of the offenders, to no avail." No one is in custody as of Wednesday morning as police investigate.

The woman's purse contained U.S. money and other personal items. The two robbers were described to police as black men, one of whom was 15 to 21 years old and about 5'07" and between 140 and 159 lbs, and the second of whom was 12 to 16 years old, about 5’04" and 120 lbs.
