Tim Meadows is the mother-effin' bomb.

The second annual Chicago Podcast Festival is coming to town, and they've lined up a pretty impressive roster of headliners. Andy Richter, Tim Meadows and Upright Citizens Brigade co-founder Matt Besser top a number of the events. Several hometown heroes will also be making appearances, too. Rick Bayless (Chicago chef and buyer of all the tomatillos at the Wicker Park farmer's market), WGN host Nick Digilio, and Tribune columnist Rex Huppke are among the locals also making their mark at the fest.

What, you say? I didn't know any of these people hosted podcasts? Well, that's because for the most part, they don't. So while the fest has nabbed a couple high-profile headliners, the true gold is found when you dig into some of the events. Take, Dungeon Rats, Rabbit Hole: A Wikipedia Podcast, for instance. Just look at the name! That is so much nerdery you know it has to be good. Or The Trusty Sidekick, which delves into all things comic book-related. (For the record, take our geek baiting as more a tip of the hat than an insult. We are geeks!)

The festival takes place from Oct. 2 to 8, and tickets range from $10 to $40, depending on the show. You can view the full line-up here.
