Police are warning about a series of armed robberies this week in Lincoln Park, and one carjacking.

All of the incidents took place in the 19th District, which encompasses Lincoln Park and other parts of the North Side, according to an newsletter sent out by Ald. Michele Smith office Friday afternoon.

The Commanders personally assured me they are increasing visible police patrols in commuting areas in our Ward during the morning hours. The armed robberies took place at the following locations and times on Wednesday, Aug. 16.

-In the 1900 block of North Hudson at 8:00 a.m.
-In the 2400 block of North Stockton at 5:20 a.m.
-In the 4300 block of North Oakley on Wednesday, at 6:15 a.m.

The aggravated car jacking took place at 8 a.m. the same day in the 1900 block of North Cleveland following the armed robbery on North Hudson. In that incident, the same person who mugged someone on Hudson later stole a construction worker's car on Cleveland, according to the newsletter. The other two robberies were likely committed by someone else, the newsletter says, who fled in a white van with license number D832TM, D0832TM, or D083JM.

Ald. Smith also wrote that, "The Commanders personally assured me they are increasing visible police patrols in commuting areas in our Ward during the morning hours."
