Loft On The 606 Sells For $2.4M, Breaking Record For Logan Square Home Sales

The striking Bow Truss loft space turned into a luxury home across from The 606 trail has sold for $2.39 million, and in doing so set a new record for a Logan Square single family home sale, according to Crain's.

As we wrote last month, the house covers 7,600 square feet and three stories in a wide brick loft space with a patio and rooftop terrace, and is zoned as a live/work space. It used to be an auto shop, but now it's Logan Square's priciest house. It overlooks The 606, a.k.a. the Bloomingdale Trail.

The buyers closed on the home last week, according to real estate records. As Crain's noted, it's located in a zone just west of Western Avenue where local aldermen would like to impose steep fees to deter developers from de-converting large, multi-unit dwellings into massive single family mansions. Gentrification, thy name is "chef's kitchen" and "4-car heated garage."
