Chicago mashup pioneers The Hood Internet are keeping their 10th anniversary party going strong. In March, they dropped The Mixtape Volume Ten: Best of The Hood Internet 2007-2017. It was a rousing trip through a decade of the Chicago duo's own mashup work and original compositions that helped us get through a pretty soggy spring.

Well, now that summer has arrived, Steve Reidell (STV SLV) and Aaron Brink (ABX) are back with another mix that sets us up perfectly for some summer vibes. THE HOOD INTERNET presents 40 YEARS OF HIP HOP brings together over 150 songs by more than 100 artists and crams them into a pop-sized nugget that would fit perfectly on commercial radio.

An exercise like this should by all rights be an unlistenable exercise in aural whiplash, but in the steady hands of The Hood Internet this actually manages to work as a cohesive, standalone song!

The video above gives you eye candy to go along with the non-stop barrage of beats. If you just want to stream or download the song, then the player below is for you.

Here's to ten more years of The Hood Internet!
