Two 13-year-old boys were among at least 24 people wounded in shootings over the warm President’s Day weekend, according to the Sun-Times. Four people were fatally shot in shootings across the city between Friday and Sunday.

In one shooting, a 13-year-boy was shot in the left arm on Sunday at around 8:14 p.m. in the 7600 block of South Peoria, in Gresham, after a dark-colored SUV pulled up and someone opened fire, according to police. He was taken to Comer Children’s Hospital and listed in good condition.

In a separate incident, another 13-year-old boy and a 16-year-old boy were shot and wounded. Both were standing outside on Friday at about 11:24 p.m. in the 5100 block of West Concord when they were hit by gunfire. The 13-year-old was listed in critical condition at Stroger Hospital with a gunshot wound to the chest. The 16-year-old was struck in the leg and listed in stable condition at Stroger. No one is in custody in either shooting.

The number of shootings over the weekend was comparable to the same time last year, in which 25 people were shot, six of them fatally, the Sun-Times reports.
