A burned body found inside a River North Parking garage earlier this week has been identified as a suburban real estate attorney.

The man is Louis S. Cohen, 60, of Highland Park, the Cook County Medical Examiner's office told the Tribune. The body was found badly burned by first-responders early Tuesday morning in the 300 block of North LaSalle Street. Authorities have yet to determine the cause of death.

Cohen is a real estate attorney with the downtown Chicago-based firm Foley & Lardner LLP. A statement on the website says:

"It is with great sadness that we share the passing of our friend and colleague, Lou Cohen. Lou joined the firm’s Business Law Department eight months ago as part of our Real Estate Practice from Locke Lord. He was formerly with DLA Piper for 27 years. Lou was an accomplished and well-known real estate attorney in Chicago and the Midwest. His ability to manage complex real estate transactions was a great service to our institutional and other major real estate clients. He had a strong legal mind and made great contributions to our office in the short time he was with us."
