Shooting On Eisenhower Expressway Leaves 1 Injured, Lanes Closed

A person was wounded by a gunshot to the abdomen on Tuesday afternoon on the Eisenhower Expressway, according to a police statement.

State police responded to a single-car crash at around 3 pm on eastbound I-290 near Morgan St. and found the person shot, according to a news release. The victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment. His or her condition was not disclosed.

All eastbound lanes on the expressway were closed near Morgan, with police diverting traffic at Racine Ave., according to state police.
