Steve Harvey May Be Ditching Chicago For L.A.

Steve Harvey is one of the hardest working men in show business. Last time we checked he seemed to be hosting 264 regular television shows, a couple dozen specials a month, and logs in at least a few guest host or morning show appearances a week. Our accounting may be a little off there, so you're free to dispute our numbers. What one can't dispute is that his anchor program, The Steve Harvey Show, does an excellent job of keeping quite a few folks employed in the Chicago area.

That may soon end.

Robert Feder reports that Harvey may be moving his talk show to L.A. next May. This isn't a shocker—it would be much easier to more regularly attract higher caliber and more famous guests if his show was located on the west coast. Leaving would also offer Harvey the additional benefit of not having to suffer through another Chicago winter. It should also be noted that L.A. skyline isn't marred by a Trump Hotel sign, so there's that too.

The irony here is that the person negotiating the move for Harvey's program is Ari Emanuel, according to Feder. Some of you may know Ari as the basis of Jeremy Piven's character in Entourage, which would be enough to dislike the guy. But he's also the brother of Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel. So we imagine the Emanuel family Thanksgiving dinner may be a little more awkward than usual this year.
