Updated at 2:50 p.m. with data from the Cook County Medical Examiner's office: The Chicago Police Department's marine unit pulled a dead man's body out of Lake Michigan in the Gold Coast neighborhood this morning.

Police got a call about a body in the water near the 1200 block of North Lake Shore Drive, and recovered the unidentified man at about 10:48 a.m. So far, the man's age and identity are unknown, and the investigation is ongoing.

This is not the first dead body to be found in Lake Michigan this year. At least eight bodies (including this man's) have been found in the lake in 2016, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office. The body of a missing medical student, 28-year-old Ambrose Monye, was found in the lake in May; the body of a missing jogger, 21-year-old Jessica Suarez, found in the lake in late April.
