The title really says it all, unfortunately—according to a recent police alert, at least five burglaries have occurred in the Lakeview area between April 26 and May 3, all by breaking the windows overnight to gain entry.

Burglaries were reported on April 26 the 3400 block of North Clark Street and the 3100 block of North Broadway overnight; in the 4400 block of North Broadway on April 28 in the early morning; in the 2800 block of North Clark Street overnight; and on May 3 the 900 block of West Diversey Avenue in the early morning.

Some businesses in the area, while not necessarily those affected, include an Intelligentsia Coffee Shop, the Pick Me Up Cafe, CorePower Yoga, and Noodles & Company, among numerous others. The department recommends that residents in the area remain vigilant and aware of their surroundings, and to call the Bureau of Detectives at (312) 744-8263 if they have any information.
