A 21-year-old man fell to his death from a 5th-story window in Edgewater Thursday morning, authorities said. The fall reportedly took place around 4:50 a.m. in the 1000 block of West Berwyn Avenue, near the Berwyn Red Line train station, and the man was pronounced dead at the scene by first responders.

Area North investigators are looking into the death, the Sun-Times reports. ABC7 says the body could be seen lying covered on the sidewalk on Berwyn Thursday morning, and the man appeared to have fallen from a window at the Foster Beach Apartments at 5250 N. Sheridan Rd.

A small stretch of Berwyn Avenue between Sheridan Road and Kenmore Street was closed Thursday morning following the fall, and as a result some CTA buses, including the #92 Foster bus, have been temporarily rerouted.
