Next time you're freaking out because you have to speak publicly or you encounter a snake while hiking a trail, be glad you're not the guy who dangled from his tractor trailer over an overpass yesterday, literally hanging on for his life.
The crash occurred in the rain in St. Charles yesterday, just west of the Discovery Bridge, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. It involved the driver of a Pontiac GC who lost control of his vehicle, striking a Ford Fusion. When Michael R. Coleman, who was driving a tractor trailer, attempted to avoid the two vehicles in front of him, he swerved off the road and over the bridge.
Someone grabbed this incredible photo of the crash, which shut down Highway 94 for about three hours.

Unbelievably, the Coleman was able to get out of the truck, and climb up the cab and onto the bridge, with the help of two drivers who used tow straps to help lift him. Coleman emerged from the crash unscathed; the other two drivers suffered non-life threatening injuries and were taken to a hospital.
