In late February, when a Chicago cyclist informed an SUV driver that he was parked in the bike lane, that driver chased the biker down, got out of his car, and punched and kicked the biker in the face.
The altercation was caught on the biker’s helmet GoPro, and the footage, recently obtained by CBS, is embedded below.
The biker suffered cuts, bruises, a numb upper lip, and a bloody eye, though no major injuries beyond that. Police are still searching for the assailant.
It all started at around 5 p.m. on Feb. 25, when the biker—whom CBS identifies as a 19-year-old named Colton—said “You’re in the bike lane, bro” as he biked past a double-parked white SUV on Madison Street.
You can watch the situation spiral into a full-blown assault here:
Police are still looking for Colton’s attacker. Officials told CBS that the white SUV in question was registered to a woman, which complicates the investigation.
“I do regret saying the stuff that I did say,” Colton told CBS; he can be heard swearing in the video. “I was obviously upset he was trying to run me off the road with his vehicle when I’m on a bike but just the fact that he still assaulted me over a few words, it’s not right.”
