  • Many CPS students were rejoicing after a blizzard dumped enough snow on Chicago to warrant a snow day today. No such luck tomorrow, city officials stated in a news conference today that after a one-day break, Chicago Public Schools will be back in session Tuesday. [Sun-Times]
  • And speaking of the most popular topic of the day, the Tribune looks at some of the variables that made it so difficult to pinpoint just how much snow we'd receive from the blizzard yesterday. We obviously know now the answer was a lot. [Tribune]
  • The snow didn't keep a couple of do-gooders from helping out their neighbors. A Logan Square couple strapped on some skies and gave a hand around their hood. Not a bad way to spend a Sunday, kudos to them. [DNAinfo Chicago]
  • The blizzard really threw a wrench in the snowstorm promotion Art Van Furniture was running. If customers bought furniture during certain days in January and it snowed more than three inches at O'Hare this past Sunday, they would receive a full refund on their purchases. It obviously did, and Art Van now owes nearly 2,000 people $2.4 million. Costly press campaign, but they don't seem too bothered by it. [WGN Chicago]
  • Before the big award show next Sunday, the Grammys spoke to local rocker Alex White of White Mystery about music and what inspires her. White will be emceeing the Grammys telecast viewing party in Chicago next weekend. [Grammy Pro]
