In Pictures: The Hideout Block Party and Onion A.V. Fest 2014

The Hideout hosted its 18th block party this weekend. Projecting the intimacy of the venerable club, the festival is one of our favorites due to its no-filler lineup, single stage ease, and convivial atmosphere.

Despite a rainy start on Friday, the weather held off for Death Cab for Cutie fans to salute guitarist Chris Walla’s last Chicago outing before leaving the band. Saturday afternoon was the picture perfect setting for a charming electropop set that won Sylvan Esso many new fans and the roguish antics of Mac DeMarco. The Dismemberment Plan kept things dynamic and the War on Drugs closed out the festival with a transcendent set that left all present “Lost in the Dream.”

Thanks to Hideout and The A.V. Club for another fantastic festival! Relive the weekend in our photos and block party playlist.
