Four people were shot, and two people were killed, in separate shootings since the start of the weekend. The fatal shootings took place in the Morgan Park and the Little Village neighborhoods, respectively.

Of the Morgan Park shooting, the Chicago Tribune reported a 37-year-old woman was shot Friday evening when "shots rang out" where the woman, identified by DNAinfo as Summer Moore, was hanging out on a resident's front yard.

Moore, a resident of Marquette Park, started to run, but was shot in the chest. Moore was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center and was pronounced dead forty minutes after the shooting took place.

The other fatal shooting, in Little Village, took place early Saturday morning. The Sun-Times reported that a 34-year-old man was found dead at the scene.

The man’s uncovered body could be seen lying face up on the sidewalk on the southwest corner of 28th and Kedvale, adjacent to a boarded up single-story building tagged with gang graffiti.

As police investigated, several people who said they were family told officers that they knew the man, saying the man’s hat — “the one he wears every day” — was laying next to his body.

DNAinfo and the Chicago Tribune the other non-fatal shootings.

So far, there have been 68 people shot, and 10 killed, in May 2014.
