Monday is shaping up to be Duncan Keith's day. The Blackhawks defenseman was named one of three finalists for the NHL's James Norris Trophy honoring the league's best defenseman Monday, fresh off a four-point performance in the Hawks' series-clinching Game 6 against the St. Louis Blues.

Keith won the award during the Blackhawks 2010 successful Stanley Cup championship campaign but his performance in 2011 and 2012 was far below expectations. He untracked himself last season in time for the Blackhawks to clinch the 2013 Stanley Cup and this season tied a career high with 55 assists. Keith was sixth in the league in assists and ranked first among defensemen in that category, and he was second among defensemen in overall points.

Keith faces some stiff competition for the award. The other finalists are Boston Bruins giant Zdeno Chara and tough-as-nails Shea Weber of the Nashville Predators.
