Pencil This In: A Re-Interpretation Of Tim Kinsella's New Book At The Nightingale

2014_4_25_PTI.jpg Tim Kinsella's new book, Let Go and Go On and On uses second-person narrative to tell the story of Laurie Bird, an obscure actress with bit parts in the films Annie Hall, Two-Lane Blacktop, Cockfighter and Bad Timing. the use of second-person narrative blurs the lines between what is actually known about Bird's career and her suicide at age 26, allowing Kinsella to explore our society's endless fascination with the Hollywood machine and the weirdness that is celebrity culture.

For tonight's book release party at The Nightingale, Kinsella recuts moments from each of those films together to make a weird different story. The event will also be readings by
Brittany LaFlamme, Heather Gabel, Naomi Huffman, Melina Ausikaitis and Joe Proulx. This event is free to attend and starts at 8 p.m. (1084 N. Milwaukee Ave.)
