As a part of the National Geographic Live speaker series, acclaimed wildlife photographer Paul Nicklen is stopping by The Goodman Theater tonight to share stories from his experiences shooting in some of the planet's most inhospitable locations. Nicklen has worked as a photojournalist for nearly 20 years, with a special focus on the detrimental effects of climate change on the polar regions.

Nicklen will speak on the dangerous scenarios he regularly finds himself in when seeking out the intimate, thrilling images that can be regularly found on the pages of National Geographic, as well as his recently published collection of photo essays, Bear: Spirit of the Wild, the result of several years spent photographing four different species of bears in their rapidly changing habitats across North America.

In anticipation of tonight's engagement, check out his 2011 TED Talk below, and browse the many thrilling photos on his website!

Paul Nicklen appears tonight, Monday Feb. 10, at the Goodman Theatre, 170 N Dearborn, 7 p.m. $31-50, all ages.
