Even if you aren’t familiar with the name Kavinsky, chances are you might be familiar with some of his work since his track “Nightcall” took off after being featured in the movie Drive. It is no surprise he creates movie moment worthy songs since most of his music is influenced by films he grew up watching in the 80s. The French house sound is gilded with an edge of pop elements and is a must for any fan of French electronic music in general. It is no surprise he has shared the stage with fellow exports Daft Punk and Justice, so if you are fans of their type of music head to the Metro tonight. Simian Mobile Disco will be spinning a DJ set before as well, so bring some dancing shoes. If you need a refresher, “Nightcall” is below.

Kavinsky is tonight at the Metro (3730 N. Clark St.) and tickets are $21 and can be purchased here. The show is 18+ with doors opening at 8 p.m. and the show starting at 9 p.m. with openers Taught Abroad, Tensnake and DJ set by Simian Mobile Disco.
