2013_10_25_rockforkids.png It’s that time of year again—Rock for Kids is throwing its annual Rock & Roll Charity Auction. The local non-profit provides music education to at-risk and underprivileged kids and they need funds to pay for the instruments, classes and gear. That’s where the auction comes in.

The event, now in its 25th year, goes down Saturday, Nov. 9 at Park West Theater. It starts out with a silent auction and a live auction, with sale items such as signed instruments, a trip to the Grammys or the New Orleans Jazz Fest and tickets to Lollapalooza. But then Rock for Kids students will also liven things up at the end of the night with a special performance. And, of course, there will a buffet for you to chow down on. You can also enter a raffle to win a John Lennon 70th anniversary J-160E vintage guitar (there are only 50 in the world) which was donated by the Chicago Music Exchange.

The Rock & Roll Charity Auction is Sunday, Nov. 9 at the Park West Theater, 322 W. Armitage. Tickets are $50 and up.
