Looking to spice up the menu for your Super Bowl viewing party? Consider attending the Jan. 12 cooking class at Socca. Chef Roger Herring will demonstrate how to make Super Bowl favorites - with a gourmet twist. Learn to make Pork Rillette with Pickled Vegetables, Rosemary Parmesan Potato Chips, Beer Cheese Dip, BLT Bread Pudding, Arancini di Riso (pictured) and more. The interactive course features step-by-step cooking demonstrations by chef Herring and a special surprise guest chef - followed by audience tastings. Select craft beers and wines will be paired up with each dish. Recipe cards are provided for guests to take home and recreate themselves. Benefit
Lincoln Tap (3010 N. Lincoln Ave.) is hosting a benefit for Sandy Hook Elementary beginning 8 p.m. Jan. 9. This benefit features nearly 40 DJs, a raffle, a silent auction, and $20 drink bands from $9:30 p.m. - 1:30 a.m. There's a $5 suggested donation at the door and donation tins will be passed around all night. All proceeds will benefit the Sandy Hook School Support Fund.
