Berlin Almost Thirtysomething

2012_12_berlin.jpg Berlin has long been a staple of the city's club scene, but sometimes we forget just how long it's been here. That's probably because the club manages to remain simultaneously timeless through its eternal celebration of this moment right now. It's managed to keep the dance floor filled for twenty-nine years, which is a major accomplishment in an industry where trends in music and the general scene have a half-life of about four weeks.

We think the reason Berlin's been successful for so long is the club's true adherence to the "everyone is welcome" mantra, managing to pack its four walls with a vibrantly eclectic mix that alienates no one. Oh, and the music! Few clubs manage to keep their booking interesting while allowing a generous mix of genres to filter through its turntables and still keep everything frothy and fun.

Berlin celebrates its birthday this Sunday, December 9, with a special DJ set from List Christee. That name doesn't sound familiar? Maybe you know him by the name he operates under in his day job as of Montreal's frontman, Kevin Barnes. This isn't Barnes' first time behind the decks at Berlin, so this is no rawk stahr posturing. Expect an eclectic mix of music and beautiful people. RSVP for free entry all night long ... and you should probably call in sick on Monday.

Berlin, you never look a day over sexy-nine to us.
