Pie Baking Contest

The South side of Chicago is getting into the pie contest game with the first annual South Side Pie Challenge, 1-4 p.m. Nov. 3 at William H. Ray Elementary School, (5631 S. Kimbark Ave.). Bakers interested in participating may register here. (A fee of $25 applies.) Three winners each will be chosen from the following categories: fruit; nut; creme; and sweet potato/pumpkin. Proceeds from the event will benefit the hunger programs at Hyde Park Union Church.
