Pencil This In: "Mommy Can I Go Out And Drink Tonight" At The Local Option; Nneka At Lincoln Hall
By Chuck Sudo in Food on Oct 25, 2012 5:40PM
Beer
The Local Option celebrates the legacy of seminal ghoul punks The Misfits Oct. 26 with music, some devil locks in the crowd and a tapping of rare and evil beers from Against The Grain / De Molen, Brasserie de Franches-Montagnes, Bayerischer Bahnhof, De Dolle, and Perennial Artisan Ales, among others, in an event they've titled "Mommy, Can I Go out and Drink Tonight?" The shit gets real at 3 p.m. (1102 W. Webster)
Music
Tickets are still available for tonight's concert featuring Nneka at Lincoln Hall. The daughter of a Nigerian father and German mother, Nneka Egbuna cut her chops opening concerts for Sean Paul. Dancehall and reggae are vital components of her musical mix, but Nneka also incorporates elements of classic soul and hip hop while singing in English and Igbo. We're huge fans of her music and, in the cozy confines of Lincoln Hall, this show could be transcendent. (2424 N. Lincoln Ave., 9 p.m., 21+, purchase tickets here.)
