Beer
In little over a year Greenbush Brewing has become one of the hottest breweries in the Midwest and has charted a growth curve rivaling locals like Half Acre and Revolution. Starting 5 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 10 Greenbush beers will be the only ones flowing through the taps at Monk's Pub downtown. Among the beers to be tapped (which are subject to change): Unicorn Killer-Pumpkin Beer; Brother Benjamin-Imperial IPA with Honey; Anger-Black IPA; Mr. Hyde-Sumatran Cream Stout; Pain-Imperial Cream Stout; and Memento Mori-Oktoberfest Style Ale. (205 W. Lake St.)
Film
Universal Pictures 1931 classic Frankenstein is rightly regarded as a classic. James Whale's direction and iconic performances by Colin Clive as Dr. Frankenstein and Boris Karloff as The Monster have influenced myriad remakes and sequels since. It may be a bit chilly to watch Frankenstein outside. That only means more room outside Logan Square's Comfort Station Wednesday night where the film will be screened at 8 p.m. as part of the Logan Square International Film Series. (2579 N. Milwaukee Ave.)
