Pencil This In: Moonshine's 5th Annual Rib-B-Que Smoke Out; The Dinner Party At Navy Pier

Moonshine's fifth annual Rib-B-Que Smoke Out is this Saturday, Sept. 22, from noon-6 p.m. The contestants vying for the Gilded Grill this year are Small Bar, Joe's on Weed Street, Moonshine. Banh Mi & Co., Socca, Smokin' Hops, Ribbona, Sweet Smoke Chicago, Ja' Grill, Sweet Ginny's BBQ, and others. In addition to a public judging, celebrity judges will include Jason Paskewitz (Gemini Bistro, Rustic House); Matt Wilde (Black Bull); Alberto Gonzalez (90 Miles Cuban Caf&3233); Audarshia Townsend (312 Dining Diva); and Lisa Pugliese. the lineup for Fear No Art Chicago's The Dinner Party, Sept. 20 at Expo Chicago at Navy Pier, features lively conversation and some impromptu performances with Principal Percussionist and Education Director of Chicago Sinfonietta, Jeff Handley; Artistic Director of the Chicago Children's Choir, Josephine Lee; and international sculptor, Tony Tasset. It all happens over a dinner created by chef Michael Kornick of MK with chocolate pairings by Vosges. The audience receives a free drink ticket and shares in samplings of food and chocolate.
