Kegs for Kids #3, the annual fundraiser organized by Hopleaf, Metropolis Coffee & Tea and Friends of Pierce to benefit Helen C. Pierce Elementary School, kicks off Sunday, Sept. 9 from noon-5 p.m. at Hopleaf. Enjoy more than 60 craft and specialty beers, food from different restaurants throughout the afternoon and a Metropolis coffee specially roasted for the event. Tickets ($40) are available online at kegsforkidschicago.com.

Music

The Burlington has an evening of local bands Thursday, Sept. 6 featuring former Low Skies member Judson Claiborne, the orchestra pop of octet Panoramic & True, and Chicagoist faves Sonoi. The show starts at 9 p.m. (3425 W. Fullerton Ave.)
