Music
Long one of Mexico's most popular bands, Café Tacuba has been case model of stability since their formation in 1989. Blending indigenous musical styles of their homeland with punk rock and electronic influences, the band has attracted a fan base that includes Beck, David Byrne, Incubus and the Kronos Quartet. They're a bombastic live act and are playing the Congress Theater on a bill with DJ Resistol 5000. DJ Enrique Tobias will spin in the Congress' lobby. (2135 N. Milwaukee Ave., 6:30 p.m., purchase tickets here.)
Beer
Stone Brewing Co. celebrates its sweet 16th birthday tonight at SmallBar Division with the tapping of three special beers. Stone's 16th Anniversary ale will be available. Stone will debut their new "Enjoy By IPA," a freshness experiment where the beer was brewed on Aug. 17 and will be pulled from shelves (or completely consumed) by Sept. 21. Stone will also have a cask of Stone Sublimely Self Righteous with Chinook hops on hand. (2049 W. Division St., 6 p.m.)
