Join Chicago's Craft Beer Boat For A Cruise
By Staff in Food on Aug 8, 2012 6:20PM
Do you enjoy beer, boats, and fireworks? Then try your luck at winning a ticket to Chicago’s first Craft Beer Boat.
Setting sail on Aug. 29 at 7p.m., the Craft Beer Boat will feature beer from Chicago newcomer Sixpoint brewery, award-winning Belgians from Artisanal Imports, a sunset cruise on Lake Michigan, light snacks, Navy Pier fireworks, and music from Jackie Rae Dorfman. You can only get on this boat by winning a ticket - no tickets are available for purchase.
Sound like fun? There are two ways to score a spot. First, attend any of the 8 events leading up to the event, and purchase either a Sixpoints or Artisanal Imports beer in exchange for a raffle ticket. Stick around for the raffle, and you could win a spot on the boat.
Below are the events where you could win:
Rockwells Neighborhood Grill - Aug. 8, 6-9 p.m.
The Boiler Room - Aug. 9, 6-9 p.m.
Fischman's Liquors - Aug. 11, 6-9 p.m.
The Bad Apple - Aug. 13, 6-9 p.m.
Riverview Tavern - Aug. 17, 6-9 p.m.
Bar on Buena - Aug. 21, 6-9 p.m.
Hopleaf - Aug. 22, 6-9 p.m.
Maria's Community Bar - Aug. 24, 6-9 p.m.
Second, take a photo of the event poster (available at each event, or just take a screen grab/photo at the bottom of this page), and tweet it to @craftbeerboat, @artisanalchi, or @sixpointjake along with #CraftBeerBoat and the code @Chicagoist to enter a Twitter raffle. The winner will be chosen from a random drawing. Don’t be shy, the more you tweet, the better your chance of winning.
According to Craft Beer Boat organizers Jake Williams and Adam Schulte, the Craft Beer Boat is designed to bring beer drinkers and producers together to simply have a good time. After attending Tuesday’s Craft Beer Boat event at SmallBar Division and feeling their hospitality, we’re looking forward to what Jake and Adam have in store.
