Prospective Top NBA Pick Anthony Davis Trademarks His Most Unique Feature

Anthony Davis, who led the University of Kentucky men's basketball team to the NCAA Title last season, is known as much for his distinctive unibrow as much as he is his skills on the hardwood. Now come reports that Davis has filed for multiple trademarks on phrases related to his unibrow.

Davis, who played his prep ball in Chicago, is a near-certain lock to be the top overall pick in the NBA Draft Thursday and filing trademarks on, among other phrases, "Fear the Brow" and "Raise the Brow" is a solid business move for the 2012 National Player of the Year. Davis told CNBC's Darren Rovell:

“I don’t want anyone to try to grow a unibrow because of me and then try to make money off of it. Me and my family decided to trademark it because it’s very unique.”

Yeah, that's probably not going to happen. Davis couldn't trademark phrases related to his unibrow while at Kentucky last year because of NCAA rules. Kentucky associate athletic director for marketing Jason Shlafer told Rovell the university sent out at least a half-dozen cease and desist letters related to The Brow or Davis's uniform number. (One Lexington, Ken. store was the first to trademark "Fear the Brow.")

And if Davis finally tires of maintaining the most famous unibrow since Sesame Street's Bert?

“I might have a commercial where I’m acting like I’m shaving it and then throw I’ll the razor down.”
