Free Stuff: Free Chick-fil-A Sandwiches On Friday

By Anthony Todd in Food on Jun 11, 2012 3:00PM

It's hard to believe, but it's been a year since the downtown Chick-fil-A opened. To celebrate, they're giving away what is sure to be a literal ton of free food. So, if you can stomach their politics, head down for a free lunch on Friday.

Between noon and 2 p.m. on Friday, they will be giving away Original Chick-fil-A sandwiches. Frankly, we've never eaten there, because the revelations about their anti-gay donations came out before the downtown Chicago location opened. However, nearly everyone in our lives assures us that we are missing out something fierce. And we have to admit that we did smile the first time we saw one of their ads.

However, if you're concerned with their politics, you have two clear choices. First, you can go scarf down as many free sandwiches as possible and then never spend your money there again. Second, you can walk past the people standing in line in the 85 degree summer sun, smirk at them, and then patronize one of the many locally-owned, less morally-opprobrious downtown lunch spots. Totally up to you.

Chick-fil-A is located at 30 E. Chicago Avenue.
