Heirloom tomato seedlings.
If you're a gardener, a house-plant grower or just someone who needs some more green in your life, get down to the Peterson Garden Plant Sale this weekend. You don't have to be gardening with them (though there are still a few plots available) to buy plants - just show up with your money and curiosity.

The plant sale will be running all weekend, starting today at 10 a.m. Heirloom varieties of tomatoes, peppers, pumpkins, herbs, eggplant, cucumbers and other vegetables will be on sale, and all proceeds go to the Peterson Garden Project. You can even stop by if you don't want to buy any plants - there will also be a bake sale. So just breath in the fresh, tomato-scented air and buy a few cookies. There will also be master gardeners and urban gardening experts on hand to help you plan your home garden.

The seedlings have been started by the Greenhouse Club at Mather High School, one of the Peterson Garden Project's many partner organizations. The sale is happening at 4642 N. Francisco, right at the Francisco Brown Line stop, and runs from 10-2 on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
