Nick Offerman And Craig Robinson Engage In A Deadpan Crosstown Baseball Fight

By Samantha Abernethy in Arts & Entertainment on Mar 5, 2012 7:00PM

Nick Offerman and Craig Robinson showed off their Chicago baseball loyalties for a commercial for New Era Caps, as Robinson tweeted Sunday. We assume the commercial will involve them talking to the cameras of nonexistent documentary filmmakers.

It's a deadpan off!! Me and @nickofferman at @new_era_caps commercial shoot.

Offerman plays the manly, mustachioed Ron Swanson on Parks and Recreation that makes bacon and eggs run in fear from his appetite. Robinson's Darryl Philbin character on The Office is one of the things holding up the show now that Steve Carell's Michael Scott is gone. (Darryl should've got that manager job.)

Robinson is about as Chicago as it gets. He was born in Chicago, attended high school at Whitney M. Young, and was a music teacher at Horace Mann Elementary School. He went to college at Illinois State University and got a masters of education from Saint Xavier University.

Offerman is from Minooka, Ill., near Joliet. He went to college at University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and lived in Chicago during the 90s, performing with Steppenwolf, Goodman and Wisdom Bridge.
