Watch Local Highlights from the Chicago Food Film Festival

By Anthony Todd in Food on Nov 21, 2011 4:20PM

PageFeature_doughnut.jpeg We told you all about the Chicago Food Film Festival last week; hopefully, some of you were able to attend. In case you weren't, here are two of our local Chicago entries - including the winner for best "super short" film.

How about some doughnuts to start off your morning? We bet you can't watch this film without running out to the corner store - or, even better, to its subject: Doughnut Vault. We've made fun of Doughnut Vault occasionally (mostly for their Twitter feed) but there is no denying their cult following. Oh, and their amazing, beautiful products. Excuse us while we get in line.

From GrubStreet's Michael Gebert, an urban fable called "Farm to Barstool: an Urban Farm to Table Story." It tells the story of Pleasant House Bakery in Bridgeport. Watch the whole pie-making process, learn where the ingredients come from (local gardens) and take a look at their fabulous pie press.

Congrats to our local filmmakers!
