Vie to Host Fall Cocktail Dinner

2011_11_8_cocktail.jpgBartender Michael Page is accustomed to riffing off the creations coming out of the kitchen at Vie. In pursuit of the Western Springs restaurant's local and seasonal mission, chefs Paul Virant and Nathan Sears frequently turn out housemade jams, preserves and other goodies, which become fodder for Page's thoughtful cocktail program at Vie. But at the recently announced seasonal cocktail dinner Vie will be hosting on Thursday, November 17, the kitchen will be looking to the bar for inspiration. Page has invited a handful of talented guest mixologists from across Chicago to help him create a seasonally driven cocktail menu, which Sears and Virant will then pair with original dishes.

The six-course dinner begins with a 6:30 p.m. reception, followed by a 7 p.m. seating ($100 per person; includes cocktail pairings). Page has tapped the following bartenders to craft the evening's liquid offerings: Clint Rogers, of Henri; Kris Von Dopek, of Duchamp; Ronnie Higgins, of Bangers & Lace, Josh Pearson, of Sepia; and Luke LeFiles of Hot Chocolate.

Vie is located at 4471 Lawn Avenue, Western Springs.
