EXCLUSIVE: BrooklynVegan Launches A Chicago Branch

We stumbled over BrooklynVegan Chicago a few months ago and when we mentioned it via a semi-snarky tweet main BrooklynVegan Dave reached out to us to clarify what we had discovered. Yes, BVchicago was out there but at that time it was more a behind the scenes thing while the site's primary Chicago correspondent, Zach Pollack, went about getting his sea legs and building up a catalog of posts.. Chicago is the first outcropping of the BrooklynVegan music blog empire, and we feel a kinship with that fact since l'il ol' Chicagoist was the first foray outside New York made by the Gothamist mothership seven years ago.

The site's still not "officially" launched but we do feel it's far enough along that if you want to start poking around or visiting BVchicago regularly it'd be worth your time. Much like it's parent, it's short on criticism and long on information so we feel it's shaping up to be a valuable resource for keeping tabs on the local music scene goings-on from day to day.
