Big Star Chicago is having Lost Abbey head brewer Tomme Arthur in for a special four course beer pairing dinner tomorrow It's a very limited engagement (40 plates) and one-time only deal featuring such dishes as Roasted poblano pepper, chayote, and green garlic and roasted peanut slaw, paired with Avant Garde, and hangar steak a la plancha, bone marrow and pickled serranos, paired with Carnevale. The Fountainhead (1970 W. Montrose, 773-697-8204) marks its first anniversary all week long. Tonight they kick off the festivities with a night of Belgian ale specials. They're knocking $1 off all Belgian bottles & drafts and half off mussels, including a special mussel recipe for the evening. They'll also be tapping a few beers, including St. Feuillien Saison, Kasteel Rouge, Valeir Divers, Affligem Triple, Bockor Cuvee des Jacobins Rouge, Malheur 10 and a special firkin of Hanssens Oude Gueuze sour ale. The party starts at 4 p.m.

In These Times and the Illinois History Labor Society are co-sponsoring a panel discussion on the history of media coverage of labor movements ranging from the Haymarket riots to today's coverage of Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker's union busting efforts. The panelists include Stephen Franklin, David Moberg, Kari Lydersen, Jeremy Gantz and Estelle Carol. It begins at 6 p.m. tonight at Haymarket Brewery & Pub (737 W. Randolph St.)

You, Me, Them, Everybody, a talk show from Brandon Weatherbee and Esmerelda Leon that's held at various locations throughout the city, makes its regular last Monday of the month stop at the Hungry Brain (2319 W. Belmont). Tonight's guests include Q101 DJ and author James van Osdol, musical guests Good Evening and Trevor McSpadden, and Chicagoist's el Jefe, Chuck Sudo. The show starts at 9 p.m., doors open at 8 p.m. and the admission is a pay what you can appreciated donation.
