2010_07_22_CPS.jpg Although Chicago Public Schools has been in trouble for quite some time over a grab-bag of issues both in and out of the classroom, talk surrounding who the new CEO of CPS has been the subject of much anticipation. Whoever heads CPS will be trusted to bring about solid change and some much-needed positivity to the CPS community.

Now that the time to bring in a new CEO is near, it is rumored that on the shortlist for CEO of the Chicago Public Schools system is Jean-Claude Brizard. Brizard is the current superintendent of schools in Rochester, New York. Unfortunately, it appears that no one really knows any specific details surrounding the whole ordeal, but the gossip train continues on:

An advisory sent to reporters yesterday announced a "press conference to discuss recent media reports regarding Superintendent Jean-Claude Brizard." Local media in Rochester have been reporting for at least two weeks that Brizard is being recruited for open superintendent positions in a number of cities, including Chicago.

And of course, news surrounding Brizard's possible departure has not been taken lightly up in New York, where some of the Rochester school board members have "publicly asked Brizard to stay put." Keeping tight lips, Brizard has not made any comments regarding the issue.

We'll just have to wait and see what happens next for CPS.
