At 8:30 p.m. last night, a southbound CTA Blue Line train struck and killed a man at the Chicago Blue Line stop. Blue Line service between Damen and LaSalle was on hold until about 10:25 p.m., when service returned to normal on the Blue Line tracks.

It seems that there has been an increase in these incidents within the past year. Most recently, on New Year's Day of this year, a man was struck by a CTA Blue Line Train at the Kedzie-Homan station, which halted service on the Blue and Pink Lines. Coupled with the ever-present CTA rail fires, the frequent number of accidents is definitely not a good thing.
