Guess it's only fitting that a man named Carlos Boozer lead the Chicago Bulls as they ended 2010 in style. In a 90-81 New Years Eve win, Boozer tallied 20 points and grabbed 15 rebounds, helping outscore the New Jersey Nets by a combined 51 points the past three games Friday afternoon.
Derrick Rose followed closely behind as usual with 19 points along with teammate Luol Deng, as the Bulls grabbed their 12th win the last 14 games. The Nets held the Bull to a 46-43 rebound edge but while Rose appeared to struggle from the field, going 5 of 16, the Bulls came out on top and Rose added 9 assists. Boozer went 8 of 14 from the field and turned his fifth double-double in six games, adding 15 rebounds and 4 assists.
The Bulls appeared to get a little sloppy, surrendering the lead to the Nets, but Ronnie Brewer and Kyle Korver tag-teamed for a 3-pointer, providing a needed lift for the Bulls, leading 46-44 at intermission. Brewer finished with 10 points and Korver tallied 9 points and 3 assists.
The Bulls' four-game home stand continues as they host Cleveland on Saturday before wrapping up against Toronto on Tuesday.
