March 8, 2011. That’s the date when Lasers, Lupe Fiasco’s long-awaited third album, is finally set for release on Atlantic Records. According to Fake Shore Drive, the rapper tweeted out a picture of him and Atlantic president Julie Greenwald with the words, “Victory” written.

Perhaps realizing that hint may be a little too cryptic, the official Atlantic Records twitter re-tweeted Lupe’s message with the release date with a Lasers hashtag. So, nearly three years after Fiasco released his last album—not that he hasn’t been keeping busy, with last year's solid Enemy of the State mixtape and contributing rap-rock pabulum to teen vampire flicks—Lasers will finally see the light of day.

Of course, release dates often change—just ask pretty much any Chicago rapper who has dealt with major labels—but the fact that Fiasco wrote today about an October 26th date for Lasers 'first single is awfully promising.
