monday_logo_petterinos.jpg Billy Elliot fans who love food will be in heaven during the month of September. Two different events that combine up-close views of the cast of the hit musical and culinary exploits should get your collective boy-ballet loving mouths watering.

This Sunday, September 12, the cast of Billy Elliot and Common Threads, a non-profit dedicated to educating kids about nutrition and cooking, will team up for a culinary competition. Hosted by the Kenmore Live Studio, cast members from Billy Elliot will be paired with a local child and compete to make the healthiest Sunday dinner. The event is free and open to the public, and culinary students from Le Cordon Bleu will be on hand to make sure everything is edible. If you're a fan, or you like reality cooking, this is a great chance to get a free look. The Kenmore studio is located at 678 N. Wells Street, and the doors open at 6 PM.

In a couple of weeks, Petterino's regular "Monday Night Live" music event will also feature cast members from Billy Elliot. At this open mic event, you may even get a chance to sing with some of the cast. Even if you just go to watch, there are menu specials, deals on wine, and a champagne toast and anniversary cake (the event is three years old). The fun kicks off at 7:30 on Monday, September 20th at Petterinos, at 150 N. Dearborn St.
