Francisco Rendon, 49, of 3711 S. California Ave., was charged on Thursday with a misdemeanor offense after his unlicensed dentistry practice was uncovered in the back of a Brighton Park auto garage by police. According to a Deering District police sergeant, Rendon was arrested after police received a tip about a man running a dentist practice out of a garage. Police discovered dentures, dental medical instruments, surgical gloves, and Novocaine in the garage.

It was not known by the sergeant how long Rendon had been running the business or how many patients he had seen. Rendon told police that he was a licensed dentist in Mexico and admitted to doing dentistry work on patients in the garage. Rendon is set to appear in court on June 2, the sergeant said to the Chicago Sun-Times.
