A Sauk Village man was charged on Friday for a March 2009 burglary after police matched blood from the scene of the crime to his DNA, Chicago Breaking News reports.

These charges came after Henry H. Johnson, 18, was already in Cook County Jail for a conviction in "another burglary case," the report said. Johnson, whose rap sheet includes past burglary and robbery arrests, is charged with felony residential robbery.

A Southwest Side home on the 6500 block of South Hoyne Avenue was broken into on March 30 during the day. When the home's owner got back from work, he found "$7,000 worth of electronics and jewelry had been stolen," according to the report.

Police found blood on a broken back window; evidence technicians were "able to get a large enough blood sample for DNA analysis."

Three days later, Johnson was arrested for and pleaded guilty to a residential burglary in May 2009. On Feb 16, he was taken into custody for violating "his supervision in that case," the report said.

Johnson's DNA matched that found at the Hoyne address and he was charged with that burglary on Friday, while in jail. He is currently being held without bail.
