On Friday evening, nine people--including three children--were injured in a single-vehicle crash on the Eisenhower Expressway. The Chicago Fire Department responded to the crash, which took place around 5:30 p.m. near the Damen Avenue exit, and eventually brought all nine people to hospitals. The Chicago District State Police, who were investigating the accident, could only reveal that it was a single-vehicle crash and all traffic lanes had been reopened by 6:10 p.m.

According to Fire Department spokesman Quention Curtis, three people, including one child, were taken to Stroger Hospital in critical-to-serious condition. A fourth victim in critical-to-serious condition was taken to Mt. Sinai Hospital. Three other adult victims were also taken to Stroger Hospital, one in serious-to-fair condition, and two in fair-to-good condition. The last two victims, both children, were taken in fair-to-good condition to Rush University Medical Center. [Chicago Tribune]
