Heat Burn Bulls
Poor shooting once again sunk the Bulls as the Miami Heat pulled away in the fourth quarter for a 95-87 victory over the Bulls. Luol Deng led all scorers with 26 points while John Salmons added 17 but Derrick Rose struggles, scoring only eight points and shooting 26 percent on the night. Said Coach Vinny of Rose, "His ankle isn't 100 percent and his conditioning isn't great because he had to sit out for a couple of weeks." The Bulls held an 80-77 lead with a little under six minutes remaining in the game but missed shots down the stretch sunk the team. Now at 1-2 on the young season, the Bulls return home to take on Milwaukee tomorrow night at the United Center (7 p.m., CSN).

Revolution Edge Fire
The Fire got an early lead on the Revolution, but it was New England who came away with a 2-1 victory in the first leg of the teams' conference semifinal series. Chris Rolfe got the Fire on the board in the 17th minute when the Rev's keeper Matt Reis deflected a Marco Pappa shot but left the goal open for Rolfe who booted in the rebound. But the Fire's offense dired up after that. New England tied the game in stoppage time at the end of the first half and got the go-ahead goal in the 75th minute. The two teams square-off once more in the second and last leg of the series at Toyota Park this Saturday at 7:30 p.m.

Wolves Up-End Rockford
Chris Chelios provided the fireworks as a late third-period power play goal from the former Blackhawk proved to be the winning goal for the Wolves who beat the Rockford IceHogs 3-1 last night. Joey Crab scored an early goal to give the Wolves the lead and the team added an empty netter in the waning seconds to secure the victory.
